Who we are

Artistic Swimming - formerly known as Synchronized Swimming - has a long and vibrant history in the Yukon!

The Northern Novas synchronized swimming club first began way back in 1992 and has ebbed and flowed over those many years but has always maintained a place in our pool and our community. Many passionate swimmers, coaches and volunteers participated in the program over the past 30+ years. Northern Novas teams participated in local, regional and national competitions - with past participants describing these competitions, and the program as a whole, as a highlight of their youth!

In 2022 the City of Whitehorse began offering classes through the Canada Games Centre Aquatics programming, until the newly formed Yukon Artistic Swimming Association took on the baton in early 2025. We are excited to continue the program, and strive to create an artistic swimming community in the Yukon that will help grow confidence, community and fun!
